Abstract
This study examines how men subject to no-contact orders for wife abuse construct and justify their violent behavior. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 25 men in T & uuml;rkiye who had received a no-contact order within the previous six months and had not participated in perpetrator intervention programs. Guided by an ecological framework and critical masculinity theories, the analysis explored men's narratives of marital violence and criminal justice involvement. Thematic analysis identified three interrelated themes: communication and relationship dynamics, power and control, and perceived injustices. Findings highlight responsibility deflection through gender norms and stress, highlighting the need for accountability-focused interventions.
