Abstract
A non-stationary process of the polariton-mode excitation in a semiconductor two-dimensional excitonic layer by a short current pulse is studied using the dyadic Green function formalism. The electromagnetic response reveals the exciton-polariton modes corresponding to the poles of the Green function.
