Abstract
This study aims to test the validity of credit rationing in terms of capital groups. For this aim, for 2010Q1-2022Q2, three panels were constituted according to banks' capital status as state-capital, private-capital and foreign-capital banks. In this study, where the Dumitrescu-Hurlin causality test was preferred, NPL/total credits and total credits/total assets variables were used. Analysis results show that findings supporting the validity of credit rationing were reached for only the state-capital banks' panel but not for other panels. Also, results show that Halkbank and Vak & imath;fbank, state-capital banks, applied credit rationing during the analysis period.
