Abstract

The link between high technology exports, income, and the globalization of the economy and culture in industrialized nations is examined in this study over the years 1996-2018. The nations Club 1 (Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Netherlands, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Switzerland, Great Britain, USA), Club 2 (Denmark, Finland, Greece, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain), and Club 3 are used analyze this relationship (South Cyprus, Iceland, Malta, New Zealand). The clubs created using the club convergence approach were then subjected to cross-section dependency, slope homogeneity, stationarity, cointegration, and AMG tests in the second phase. According to the results, it was found that economic and cultural globalization had an increasing effect on high technology exports in countries converging to clubs with low high technology exports. It is seen that income has an increasing effect on high technology exports in Club 1 countries where countries converge to high values of high technology exports.
